Irish Folk Trio

At Shoot the Waters, we play Irish folk music and contemporary classics with a fresh touch. Our songs blend strong vocals with delicate arrangements on fiddle, bouzouki, and banjo.

We’ve played in small rooms and bigger stages, always aiming to create a warm connection with the crowd. Whether it’s a quiet evening or a lively celebration, we shape our set to fit the moment and the people in front of us.

"We got married in December and booked Shoot the Waters for the night after our wedding. They were a pleasure to deal with and they were exactly what we wanted. Everyone is still talking about how amazing they were! Mark, Davin and Caoimhe are insanely talented and we would easily listen to them play and sing all night. We’re just waiting for the next opportunity to book them for a gig."

"We got Shoot The Waters to play at the second day of our wedding to approx 120 guests. I cannot speak highly enough of how good they were! We had a large contingent back from the UK for the wedding and we wanted to have the music for the day 2 to make the authentic Irish experience for everyone that made the trip back to the west of Ireland for the weekend! We left it to them on what to play and they absolutely nailed it! We got loads of traditional Irish classics along with an Irish twist on some modern classics for good measure! I would have no hesitation on recommending them for any occasion! They're top class!"

"Shoot the Waters played at our family celebration and they were amazing! From start to finish the music was beautiful. They mixed traditional Irish songs with a few contemporary favourites that had everyone singing along. Guests are still talking about how much the music added to the night. We’d book them again in a heartbeat."

Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers

Do you perform at weddings?

Yes. We regularly play at weddings, from intimate ceremonies to lively day-two parties, and can tailor the setlist to suit the occasion.

Do you travel for events?

We’re based in the west of Ireland but are happy to travel nationwide (and abroad by arrangement). Travel costs are agreed in advance.

How long do you perform for?

Typical sets run 2 hours, but we can adapt to the needs of your event.

Do you provide your own sound system?

Yes. We bring a professional PA and sound equipment suitable for small to large venues. For much larger events, we can coordinate with a sound provider to rent extra equipment.

How far in advance should we book?

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends and summer dates, as these fill quickly.

Can you learn specific songs for our event?

Yes. If there are particular songs that matter to you, let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to include them. Please allow a minimum of 6 weeks to accommodate requests.

What styles of music do you play?

Our core is Irish folk with contemporary elements, featuring fiddle, bouzouki, banjo, and vocals. We also weave in modern songs with our own folk twist.
